Checking for Darkweb Leaks

When you sign in to Safebox and the record list or grid view is displayed, Safebox starts checking your saved records through the Zero Darkweb service API to see if any of them have appeared on the dark web.

Darkweb leak checking screen
  • As soon as you log in, Safebox automatically runs a darkweb leak check for the records stored in your Safebox via the Zero Darkweb service.

  • If nothing suspicious is found, a message such as “Your account is safe” is displayed.

After the check is complete, if any of your information is found on the dark web, a link appears at the top of the record list that lets you review the details.

  • When a leak is detected, the notification area at the top turns orange and shows a message about the leak.

  • If you click "View all details," the list is filtered so that only the records involved in the leak are shown.

  • At the top of the orange leak notification banner, there is a "Hide" link. Clicking this hides the notification panel.

Using the Darkweb Leak Check service

By default, whenever you log in to Safebox, the Darkweb Leak Check service runs automatically and scans all of your records. Depending on the result, a darkweb leak status panel is displayed under the Search box.

  • If you click Hide on the darkweb leak panel, it disappears from the screen.

  • To show the darkweb leak panel again, click the Zero Darkweb leak check icon () to the left of your organization name at the top of the screen.

Checking for darkweb leaks while entering a record

When you create a new record in Safebox and enter information into the fields, the Darkweb Leak Check service also validates the data you type. If the value you enter in the Password or PIN field is found by the darkweb leak service, a warning popup appears.

  • If you still want to use the same value even after the warning, click Yes in the leak warning popup to continue creating the record.

  • When the Darkweb Leak Check service is enabled, an orange warning banner is shown if a leak is detected for the data you enter while creating a record, so that you are clearly notified.

Understanding the Darkweb Leak Warning panel

If any records with leaked data are found, the orange warning panel at the bottom of the screen shows the following information.

  • Number of leaked records Shows a message such as “1 data breaches leaked your info to the dark web” so you can see how many records were involved.

  • Update check request () Displays the date and time when the last darkweb leak check was performed. Clicking the sync icon next to it runs the leak check again via the service.

  • Quick settings () Clicking the options (settings) icon opens a configuration screen where you can enable or disable the Zero Darkweb report feature and adjust the check interval. Click Save to apply your changes.

  • View all details Clicking View all details at the bottom of the warning panel shows only the records that were detected as leaked, so you can easily review them.
